I have found that the old lenses from pre-coating days (before 1940) exhibit softness, flare and amazing bokeh. In order to keep a mild bit of order, there will be a separate page for each lens. As a further consideration – prior to 1940 color film was not an item generally for sale. These lenses were designed for B&W film. A couple of the lenses I will use in this section will approach 1950 and generally be poorly coated.
